Screened-In Back Porch Transformation
Complete Porch Remodeling & Custom Carpentry Project
This project transformed an existing covered back porch into a comfortable, finished screened-in outdoor living space. I Know a Guy Handyman and Remodeling completed the transformation with custom framing, screened openings, doors, finished walls and trim, lighting, a ceiling fan, and custom built-in seating and storage.
The Transformation
From an Open Porch to a Finished Outdoor Room
The original porch provided a covered outdoor area, but it was open to the surrounding environment. This project completely changed how the space could be used.
The existing porch was framed to create new screened openings while maintaining the natural light and views of the property.
Large screened sections allow plenty of natural light into the space while providing airflow and protection from insects.
The finished walls, trim, ceiling, lighting, and ceiling fan give the porch the feel of a dedicated outdoor room rather than simply a covered patio.
Custom Built-In Seating & Storage
One of the defining features of this project is the custom built-in seating and cabinetry.
The built-in was constructed specifically for the space and provides comfortable seating while incorporating storage underneath.
Custom carpentry allowed the design to make full use of the available wall space while giving the finished porch a unique, built-in appearance.
A Better Way to Enjoy the Outdoors
The finished screened-in porch provides a comfortable transition between the home and the backyard.
With large screened openings, a ceiling fan, lighting, and comfortable built-in seating, the space can be used for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the surrounding property without being exposed to insects.
The project demonstrates how an existing porch can be transformed into a much more functional and attractive outdoor living area.
